About Me
Thank you for visiting this website. The main content here is centred around my research into my family history, although there may be other material included, as time permits, which reflects my other interests.

For example, as a composer/arranger/MIDI programmer, there will eventually be a page where you can listen to some examples of the music I have composed and recorded over the years as well as links to music related sites.

As an active member of my local community, I have a wide number of interests, particularly in the fields of local politics and Education. I am a Governor at two local schools, and this too may eventually be reflected in the content of this site.

I was first elected to Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council as a councillor for Godley Ward in Hyde, Greater Manchester, on the 4th May2000.You may find more details of my council involvement by following the "Know your councillor" link on the Tameside Website, and clicking on the Hyde Godley section of the Tameside map which can be found there. I have been appointed as the Chair of Hyde District Assembly, one of the new bodies which is designed to give local people a real input into community life. (Again, reference to the relevant section of Tameside's Website will give you more details). For any expat Tamesiders, there is a web-cam trained on the Town Hall at Ashton under Lyne, and giving a good view of Ashton market! The image is updated every three minutes.

I am very proud to have been chosen to as the Deputy Mayor of Tameside this year (2004-2005) and together with my wife Françoise, who is the Deputy Mayoress of Tameside, we are looking for to enjoying meeting as many of the people of Tameside as possible.

If the material (excluding my original music) on any of my pages is of any interest to you, please feel free to use it, and if you have any family history details which you feel may tie up with mine I would love to hear from you.
I was appointed as a Justice of the Peace (Magistrate) in January 1999, and there are a few details about that on one of my new pages. There is also a link to the website of the Magistrates' Association for those that may be interested.

I hope that the next time you pass this way, there may be more to keep your interest for a little longer.

The link below will take you to a page where some samples of my music are available to listen to.
Clicking on the title of each piece should open your default mp3 player.
All the pieces were recorded using a Yamaha SY85 Synthesizer & Proteus 2 synthesizer module.

All pieces are copyright J B Sullivan (1980-2004) and may not be used for any purpose without the written permission of J B Sullivan
