3 More Pieces
Here are three pieces which I haven't posted before.

The first Garden of Tranquility I wrote this Summer (05) in Overture. As I wrote it I had in mind something of a pastoral scene, - meadows, streams, butterflies and all kinds of flora and fauna etc. I actually wrote it for a Harp/Flute duo who played a concert for me in my Town Hall last Spring - though they don't know it yet. I'm hoping they'll perform it next June when I've booked them to play again.
In July we (Tameside Council - of which I am a councillor) opened a new Garden of Tranquility in Hyde Park (in Hyde, Cheshire, not the big one in London!) in honour/memory of the victims of notorious GP Doctor Shipman (who incidentally was my family doctor for many years - and who delivered my son!!!!) As you may know Shipman has turned out to be the biggest serial killer of all time.
Anyway, we made this beautiful peaceful Garden complete with a fountain and lots of hwqvy scented plants and herbs so that the relatives of Shipman's victims could have a place of peace to quietly reflect on the memories of their loved ones - and anyone else in fact who needs such a place for their own reasons. As a great deal of thought had gone into the design and planning of the Garden, we filmed the process over a period of months - including meetings we held and the actual construction and formal opening of the Garden. (The film is up on the web on Tameside's website - 'm not gving the URL because I do a short interview on there myself!)
During the editing, the tv company asked me to review the script and in doing so I noticed that there were references to music here and there. I asked what music they'd chosen and they hadn't chosen any at that stage so I suggested they had a listen to this piece and they used it.
I hope you like it. It uses GPO Harp 1, Harp 1 harmonics and Solo Flute V.
The score can be viewed here

The second piece is an old one of mine called Fireside Reverie. There's a description of how I see it in the sidebar to the left but of course you may see it differently.
I used GPO and the Guitar Pinch from TTS which comes with Sonar.

The third piece, GPO and Moog (not the real title! - I haven't got that yet) is a version of a short theme I came up with when I first got to play with my Moog Modular V Virtual Synth by Arturia. There are 4 instances of the Moog and also GPO Strings, Brass and Percussion. There's also a tiny bit (the last few bars to be precise) where I use the Section Horns from the VSL instruments which come "free" with Gigastudio 3.
